Promoting youth-oriented physical fitness within Northern San Diego County, this year's 20th Annual Rotary Fun Run at Mt. Carmel High School will be the most talked-about and exciting run yet!
Third through fifth graders will run a 1.0 mile course around the high school stadium while sixth through eight grade runners will negotiate a 1.8 mile course. Both the top finishing elementary school and middle school will have their names engraved on the Phil Warren Rotary Fun Run Trophy.
Last year 763 runners from 14 elementary and 10 middle schools competed in the event. The Warren-Neely Foundation has assisted with funding the event for the past several years. For the first time, Supervisor Pam Slater-Price will also be sponsoring the event. The Rotary Club is seeking additional sponsors to help expand the event to even more schools in North San Diego county. Interested parties are asked to contact Jean Heinz with San Diego North Rotary at (619) 238-5454. Individual runners, schools, and running clubs can register, at no cost, here on the site. Runners can also register the day of the event.
